Improvisation Workshop for Children

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

Improv is the art of acting in the moment and saying "yes!" to whatever comes next. Students will learn the basics of improv through up-on-your-feet ensemble exercises, games, storytelling and improvisations that activate their actor tools. You will develop characters and put them in different situations.  You will create stories and act them out.  We’ll share things that happened to us during the week and turn them into mini plays. All of these activities will help to develop public speaking skills, teamwork, confidence, listening, focus and so much more.

Besides just being a lot of fun, Improv has been shown to:
  • Activate language and creativity centers in the brain
  • Help promote brain connectivity
  • Reduce social anxiety
  • Boost confidence
  • Decrease stress
The final class on the 14th will be a sharing performance for friends and family.
