The Milford Recreation Department is offering Pickleball Lessons for the 2024 season! Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and we are pleased to offer lessons from our certified instructor, Rudy Meredith.
We will be offering multiple types of lessons. We will be offering a beginner lessons, and advanced beginner supervised play. Each lesson will be 1 hour long with a max of 16 people per group. Lessons will last 4 weeks for a total of 8 lessons per session.
For the first time, we will also be offering an Intermediate and Advanced Beginner Practice and Play. These sessions will be once a week for 4 weeks.
*The instructor reserves the right to move you if you are not at the skill level for the class you signed up for.
*You must bring your own Pickleball Paddle

Rudy Meredith has certification in IPTPA International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association Levels 1 + 2.
He also has an extremely decorated Pickleball Playing career which includes:

Lesson Description
Beginners- (New to the Game, have not really played before)
The beginners lesson will focus on basic fundamentals of Pickleball. The instructor will focus on such things as the rules, how to keep score, how to serve, how to return a serve and other basic strokes. After the session, the participant should have a good basic understanding of how to play Pickleball!
Advanced Beginner Supervised Play (Less than 1 year of playing experience)
You will play with individuals of the same skill level. Rudy will monitor matches and set up schedules along with rankings for players. He will also coach during matches as well.
Intermediate Supervised Play ( 1+ year of playing experience )
You will play with individuals of the same skill level. Rudy will monitor matches and set up schedules along with rankings for players. He will also coach during matches as well.
Advanced Intermediate- Knows the game extremely well and competes at a high level.
Practice and Play
Practice and Play is a new program we are offering where Rudy will practice/run drills with you for the first 30 minutes and then you will apply what you have learned in a match setting for the final hour.
Here are the Practice and Play Sessions:
Beginners Monday Night Practice and Play- 5pm-6pm
Advanced Beginner Monday Night Practice and Play- 6pm-7:30pm
Advanced Beginners Thursday Night Practice and Play 5pm-6:30pm
Intermediate Thursday Night Practice and Play- 6:30pm-8pm
*Please sign up for the class of your ability level. Rudy reserves the right to move you to the appropriate level class*

Skill Assessment!!
On the following dates, 10/26 & 11/2 Rudy will be running a skills assessment to determine what level you should be playing at going forward!
The assessments will be 1 1/2 hours and take place at the Eisenhower Pickleball Courts.
Here is the schedule:
Saturday 10/26
2pm-3:30pm Beginners (2.0-2.5)
3:30pm-5pm Advance Beginners (2.5-3.0)
Saturday 11/2
2pm-3:30pm Intermediate (3.0-3.5)
3:30pm-5pm Advanced Intermediate (3.5-4.0)

Cancellation Information & Make-Ups
Cancellation information will be posted on at
MilfordRecreation.com and a notification will be sent out via email. Please make sure you are opted in to emails on your account.
Make ups will be made at the end of the session. The Recreation Department reserves the right to schedule a make-up time that is best for the department.
Make-up sessions are for classes cancelled by the Recreation Department not classes missed by the participant.
