Inclusive Park Designers: Summer Robotics Camp
What if YOU could design a park where every child can play?
In this hands-on robotics camp, students become engineers and designers on a mission to create an inclusive community park—one that is welcoming and accessible for children of all abilities.
Working in teams of three, students will build and program LEGO® EV3 robots to solve real-world challenges inspired by modern playground design. Using our City Scape field, teams will test ideas like:
- How can we make playgrounds accessible for wheelchairs?
- How can technology help children with different sensory needs?
- How can we design safer, more welcoming public spaces?
Throughout the week, students will:
- Build and program their own robot
- Complete daily engineering challenges
- Test and improve their designs on a real competition field
- Collaborate, problem-solve, and think like real engineers
The week ends with a Final Design Challenge, where teams showcase their robot solutions and ideas for the ultimate inclusive park.
No experience needed—just creativity, teamwork, and a willingness to try!
Bring your own lunch, morning and afternoon snacks.
