Make it Mondays
MakeIt! Mondays has been postponed for the 2021 Fall season as of 11/18/21.  Pending interest, we may offer this new class idea in the spring with modified crafts. 

Milford Recreation is starting Make It! Mondays this November! In this 6-week craft class, crafters will create 3D Creations while learning about leaf identification and the unique characteristics of finger prints and snowflakes.

Class is limited to the first 12 registrants in grades 3-12. We will modify each craft based on age level of students offering a challenge for older students and more easy techniques for our younger individuals.  Masks required.

TIME/LOCATION: 6:00pm @ The Margaret Egan Center - Room 139

DATES:

Week 1 - November 22nd - Turkey Leaf Canvas
We will learn about different types of leaves, paint a canvas, and create turkeys on canvas out of real twigs and leaves. 

Week 2 - November 29th - Finger Print Fall Tree Canvas
We will paint a tree on canvas, learn about unique characteristics of our finger prints and create fingerprint leaves on our canvas. 

Week 3 - December 6th - 3D Snowman Canvas
We will paint a winter wonderland canvas featuring a snowman and "3D" features like felt hats, buttons, googly eyes, and cotton snow. 

Week 4 - December 13th - Sock Gnomes
We will create adorable sock gnomes utilizing no-sew techniques.  We will learn how to cut socks and materials to create cute gnome hats, bodies, and beards. 

Week 5 - December 20th - Snowman Mason Jars w/Light
We will create glass glitter snowmen mason jars complete with earmuffs, button eyes, and battery operated tea lights. 

Week 6 - December 27th - New Year's Eve Craft
We will create a New Years Eve paper plate clock and New Years Eve popper canvas with paint, glue and confetti materials.

About the instructor:  Cassandra is a graduate of Fitchburg State University with a Video Communications degree and Art Minor.  She currently works for the Recreation department as the Marketing & Communications specialist. She has a son in 4th grade and has studied courses such as puppetry, 3D design, graphic design and more.  She has a strong passion for art and working with youth which shows in her volunteer roles with Milford United Soccer Club and as Cubmaster of Milford Pack 7 Cub Scouts.

  • The Program lasts Six Weeks from November 22nd-December 27th
  • Classes will be held every Monday Night at the Margret Egan Center
