Session 5: July 27 - 30 featuring Carnival Day
Session 6: August 3 - 6 featuring the Talent Show and Family & Friends Day (August 6 is Family & Friends Day! No camp Friday, August 7)

Camp Happiness is a Milford Recreation program created for children with special needs entering kindergarten through 6th grade. Operating at Foran High School, our six-week summer day camp offers a supportive, structured, and joy-filled environment where every child is welcomed and celebrated. Campers are eligible to attend if they have an IEP through the City of Milford or another school district.
Campers are carefully grouped by age and individual needs, which may include developmental, speech and language, and social/emotional delays, as well as more complex or multi-handicapping conditions. Our goal is to ensure that each child is supported while also feeling connected, confident, and included.
The camp day runs from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM and follows a consistent, engaging routine that includes morning meeting, music, arts & crafts, physical education, swimming, and a daily creative period where campers and counselors collaborate and explore together. Each week also features visiting performers, and special days like our camp carnival, tie-dye, Camp Olympics, and Pirate Day continue to be highlights of the summer.
Community connection is at the heart of Camp Happiness. As much as we’ve been supported over the years, we believe in giving back and helping our campers experience the joy of contributing to the community around them.

Since 1965, Camp Happiness has been a beloved part of the Milford community, growing from a small program of 20–30 campers to serving over 100 children each summer. Our dedicated team includes approximately 40 staff members - high school and college students alongside experienced educators. A full-time nurse is always on site, and a behavioral support program is in place to meet the diverse needs of our campers.
