The days when you thought Science is boring are over!!! Join one or all of our 5 day Mad Science programs.  Offered during April Break and during the Summer these programs offer a unique, hands on science experience.

Big Bang Boom - April Break Camp
  • Monday, April 16 - Friday, April 20
  • Full Day 9a-3p; Half Day 9a-12p
  • Cost: Full Day $410; Half Day $230
  • Class Description: Boom into the Fun world of Science! Create lots of fizzing, bubbling, popping Mad reactions. Hold on to your seat as the class bursts with Energy when we learn about force, motions and power sources. You will build a catapult, assemble a battery, light up and connect your world using solar power and fiber optics. Become an Ecologist and make animal tracks, activate volcanoes, create storms and learn all about how to preserve the Earth and the animal Kingdom. The fun won’t stop there! You will learn how to use science tools solve a crime, make special movie effects, create a beautiful canvas, and see that SCIENCE is all around us!!

"Fizz"ical Phenonmena & Che-Mystery
  • Monday, July 9 - Friday, 13
  • Full Day 9a-3p; Half Day 9a-12p
  • Cost: Full Day $410; Half Day $230
  • Class Descriptions: Take a walk on the wild side in this crazy week of sleuth science. Have a ton of fun as we whip up potions and experiment with all kinds of chemical reactions, including growing our own crystals, making sidewalk chalk, and learning the science of chromatography! Mix it up as we experiment with molecular madness, radical reactions and “fizz”-ical and chemical reactions. Discover what those crazy chemists are really up to in their laboratories! Then use everything you’ve learned to solve the Mad Science Mystery; even Sherlock couldn’t figure this one out! Everyday a fun take home experiment like SLIME!!

Wacky Robots & Widgets
  • Monday, July 30 - Friday, August 3
  • Full Day 9a-3p; Half Day 9a-12p
  • Cost: Full Day $410; Half Day $230
  • Materials Fee: $30.00
  • Class Description: Whether your child loves to build things or destroy them, this week of camp includes lots of both! Junior Mad Science engineers design and build structures using simple tools and their imaginations. Then the machine madness starts…children discover how different machines, both simple and complex, are used in our daily lives! Kids design simple machines using pulleys, wedges, screws and levers and have fun learning how catapults work! We use the skills we’ve learned to build a Mad Science robot that we can keep, all while learning the science of robotics! Lots of take homes everyday!

  • Classes held at the Tri Beach Neighborhood Center, 170 Hillside Avenue
  • Participants should bring water and a peanut free lunch and snacks daily
